Pesticide Application: Grandfather rights are changing

The current exemption in UK law (commonly known as “grandfather rights”) will end on 26thNovember 2015.

After this date, it will be an offence for anyone to purchase plant protection products (PPP’s) such as weed killers authorised for professional use, unless:

  • they have a certificate of competence or
  • they have ensured the end user has a certificate of competence.

Training – short course

Only people born before 31st December 1964 & using PPP’s on their own or their employers land can register for the shortened course – “NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides Replacing Grandfather Rights”.
