  • Qualifications required vary dependent on the product and application methods used, if you are unsure of whether you need to be qualified of what qualification you need. Call us on 0800 032 6262 or email info@progreen.co.uk and we’ll be happy to advise you.

Children & pets
It is normal practice to keep children and pets away from sprayed areas until the applied product has dried, after this point it is generally safe for children and pets to go back and use the area.

Puppies, kittens, chickens, geese, guinea pigs
It is advisable to call for advice if applying pesticides in areas where the above animals are present, so that we can check with the manufacturer and offer advice. To find out more call 0800 032 6262

Grazing animals (ie Horses, Sheep etc)
Specific exclusions for grazing animals apply on certain products. This can vary from 7 to 14 days. Please check your product label for full instructions and exclusions before spraying. If you are unsure please call us on 0800 032 6262 and we can advise you.

NB: It is important to always read the product label for full instructions before spraying

Undiluted pesticides
Pesticides have no sell by date. Once they are open keep then frost free with the top firmly on they should last for a number of years.

If stored for some time it is best practice to check that the pesticide is still approved for use. This can be done by checking the CRD website link or alternatively contact us via email on info@progreen.co.uk or call 0800 032 6262

Diluted pesticides
Once a pesticide is mixed and diluted its efficiency will start to diminish over a period of time. This is why it is recommended to do the following:-

  • Only mix the right amount of product that you need to carry out a job
  • Mix as close to the time you are going to apply the pesticide to make sure you get the best results

Dilution rates are on all pesticide product labels and should be checked and read before use.

You will find that the majority of our listings display dilutions in hectares, so it’s useful to know that one hectare is equivalent to 10,000m2 to help with any conversions you carry out. You can also use our Conversion Chart for more information on weights, volumes & areas conversions.

If you are still unsure on what dilutions you should be using please email us on info@progreen.co.uk or call 0800 032 6262 and we will be happy to help you.

You can get Technical Advice directly from us, simply email info@progreen.co.uk with your question subject titled Technical Request or alternatively call 0800 032 6262 and we will be happy to help.

Our Technical Advice team is made up of BASIS, FACTS BETA and NPTC qualified staff as well as having members who have worked within a wide range of industries including horticulture, grounds maintenance/landscaping, equine and agriculture.
