Want to purchase professional rodenticides?
You must now have certification to show that you comply with the UK rodenticide stewardship schemes (CRRU - The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use)
This generally means products that say they are for professional use on the label, loose bait / pack sizes above 1.5 kg.
This one day course is geared towards candidates achieving recognised certification for the control of rats and mice.
Who should attend?
The Rodent Control Course is specifically for those that carry out or oversee pest control for rats and mice in and around buildings and open areas.
Key people and areas that come under the training are:-
- Land Managers - Farms, Small Holdings & Allotments
- Equine & Livery Environments
- Grounds Maintenance & Amenity Situations
- Industrial Areas - External & Warehouses
On the day, new and existing users will be given a full understanding of rodent control methods, best practices and current legislation.
The training covered should allow the attendee to feel competent to take an exam at the end of the course. A successful pass would then mean that they comply with the current legal stewardship regime requirements for rodenticide usage.
Once the candidate has received their certificate they can purchase and use rodenticide products (rat bait & mouse bait) that are labelled for use for 'professionals' only.
- Rodents - know your enemy
- Legislation, assurance schemes and CRRU (The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use)
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Assessing risk of rat poison / mouse poison
- Non - chemical controls
- Chemical control methods, rat / mouse bait types and formulations
After training, each candidate can take an online examination for 'Certification in Rodent Control'. Full instructions on how to register, timings and costs will be confirmed when enquiries are made.
