Spring & Summer Fertiliser Products
Our granular lawn fertilisers deliver high levels of nitrogen, phosphate and potash to satisfy the demands of rapid spring growth.
The higher-strength, long-life spring and summer fertiliser is resin-treated to 'trickle feed' nutrients over 3–4 months, ensuring your grass stays greener for longer.
Once autumn begins, it's time to move on to autumn and winter fertilisers. A winter fertiliser helps strengthen the roots, repairing damage from increased wear and tear during the summer.
Spring & Summer Lawn Fertiliser Equipment
Accurately cover larger areas in less time with our extensive range of fertiliser spreaders and related equipment. Using a spreader from a reputable supplier ensures even coverage and reduces the risk of root burn (this would require you to get a new lawn!).
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I apply fertiliser on grass in spring?
Spring and summer fertilisers can generally be applied during the months of April through to August when the temperatures are warmer. Fertilisers shouldn't be applied during periods of environmental stress, such as frosts or droughts.
How long do spring lawn fertilisers last?
This depends on the fertiliser. Our Amvista G3 offers an extended feeding period of 8–10 weeks, whereas a long-life fertiliser, such as Amvista G6 gives prolonged release over 4–5 months, ideal for established grass.
How do I apply fertiliser?
For best results when applying spring and summer fertiliser, follow our top tips:
- Use a spreader from a trusted company to ensure even coverage.
- Always ensure the soil is moist, as this improves nutrient uptake. If there is no rain for 48 hours after application, water the grass.
- Mow the lawn before applying and wait a minimum of 24 hours before adding the fertiliser treatment.
- Apply less fertiliser in shady areas.
- Remove unwanted organic matter (dead leaves, twigs, moss, etc.).
- Make sure the soil is aerated to enhance nutrient intake. For smaller properties, poking holes in the soil should help it breathe.
- Avoid cutting the grass for three days after applying fertiliser.
