Our Pesticide Training Assessments includes the PA1 Safe Use of Pesticides Online Assessment, required to demonstrate core knowledge of pesticide legislation, safety and best practice. This assessment is designed for those who are ready to be examined and need to achieve the theory element of the Certificate of Competence. The assessment is completed online under remote invigilation and leads to a nationally recognised LANTRA certificate. Training is not included and must be completed separately where required.

What does the PA1 online assessment involve?

The PA1 assessment consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, completed within a 60-minute timed exam. The assessment is remotely invigilated and reviewed by an independent exam body.

Is training included with this assessment?

No. This product provides the assessment only. Any required training or revision must be completed separately before sitting the exam.

What do I need to complete the assessment?

You will need a laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection, Google Chrome, a webcam and the required exam plug-in. Tablets and mobile phones cannot be used.

How and when do I receive my results?

After completing the assessment, the exam recording is reviewed and results are confirmed within five days. Successful candidates receive a paper LANTRA certificate and a wallet-sized ID card.

Is PA1 a legal requirement?

Yes. PA1 forms Part 1 of the Certificate of Competence required by law for the professional use of pesticides in the UK. A relevant practical unit must also be completed to apply pesticides.
