How to Use Roundup ProActive - A step-by-step guide to application

Wondering the best way of how to use Roundup ProActive? When it comes to applying weed control products it is essential that certain steps are followed to ensure that you get the most out of your product. Check out our guide below to help with your applications.

How to Use Roundup ProActive: Application Guide

  1. Read the label carefully and follow all instructions. This includes wearing protective clothing such as coveralls, gloves and eye protection among other precautions that may need to be taken.
  2. Mix the product according to the directions on the label. Roundup ProActive is a concentrate, so you will need to mix it with water before using it. The label will provide instructions on the correct dilution ratio for this.
  3. Apply the product to the weeds you want to kill. Make sure that you get the products onto the leaves of the weeds. It is also important that you apply the weed killer when there is no rain forecast as this can decrease the efficacy of the weed killer.
  4. Do not apply Roundup ProActive to desirable plants. The product can kill any plant it comes into contact with, so be careful not to apply it to plants you want to keep.

How much Roundup ProActive per litle of water?

Hand-held Application

  • Annual Weeds: 150ml to 10L water
  • Cut-stump application (coniferous): 200ml to 1L water
  • Perennial broad-leaved weeds: 250ml to 10L water
  • Aquatic weeds: 300ml to 10L water
  • Rhododendrons: 500ml to 10L water
  • Hand-held weedwiper: 1L to 2.25L water

 

Boomspray Application

  • Annual grasses and weeds: 3L/ha to 200L/ha water
  • Perennial broad-leaved weeds: 5L/ha to 200L/ha water
  • Aquatic weeds: 6L/ha to 200L/ha water

How long does Roundup ProActive take to work?

With perennial weeds, glyphosate can take up to three weeks to see results. For other plants, results could occur over a few days. It’s recommended that you do not respray after a few days—it’s best to let the glyphosate do its work.

Additional Tips To Keep In Mind When Spraying Roundup ProActive

Here are some additional tips for applying Roundup ProActive weed killer:

  • Avoid applying the product on a windy day as the wind can blow the product on to desirable plants
  • Try and spray on a day where there is no rain forecast for 24 hours - this product is rainfast from 1 hour after application however the longer that it is left without contact with rain the better efficacy you are going to achieve
