Product Detail

Perlka is a general use, granular, nitrogen fertiliser, ideal for horse paddock applications, where nitrogen is the main nutrient required.

Perlka also has some unique properties over any other fertiliser. They include:

  • Contains lime (Calcium oxide) to raise a paddock soil pH
  • Sterilizing action on weeds and soil fungal diseases
  • Sterilizing action of soil parasites potential harmful to livestock
  • Contains slow release nitrogen, allowing higher doses to be used in single applications without promoting rapid grass growth spurts. This results in few applications.
  • Safe to livestock and horse.

This product is a reportable substance for the purposes of the Poisons Act 1972 and the Control of Poisons and Explosives Precursors Regulations 2015(1).

Contains:

Perlka Contains 19.8% nitrogen (N) 50% lime (CaO) 1.5% magnesium (MgO)
Perlka is manufactured from natural raw materials; coal, limestone and atmospheric nitrogen

Application Rates:

  • Maximum per season 400kg/ha or 160kg/acre
  • This can be applied from March, ideally in 2 or 3 applications, 6-8 weeks apart

For example:

  • Option 1 - in less fertile situations and/or where you wish to use Perlka's liming properties, apply 2 applications, 75kg/acre in March and repeat 75Kg/acre more in May.
  • Option 2 - in more fertiliser situations, apply 3 applications, 50kg/acre in March, 50kg/acre in May and 50kg/acre in July.

Allow 10-14 days post application before livestock is re-introduced on to treated grassland.

Delivery

For delivery, each 600Kg bag is secured to a pallet and unloaded from a tail lift vehicle. Once unloaded, it is the buyers responsibility to move the fertiliser from the unloading point to your secure storage either using the pallet or the integral lifting straps that form part of the bag. Obviously, some type of handling equipment will be required to move a 600Kg bag.

If you are attempting to order more than 2 x 600kg bags, we will need to process the order through our office. Please call 01778 394 052 or if you require an alternative bespoke blend.
