Bracken can quickly dominate grassland, reducing grazing value and restricting the growth of desirable species. This bundle combines two complementary herbicides to provide a broader spectrum approach to weed management. Squire Ultra offers selective control while being kinder to established clover, whilst Thrust delivers powerful control of many troublesome broadleaf weeds found in grassland situations.

Together, they form an effective weed management package for improving pasture quality and encouraging healthier grass growth.

Amidosulfuron 75% w/w

This advanced sulfonylurea herbicide provides selective weed control by targeting susceptible broadleaf weeds while leaving established grass species and white clover unaffected when used according to the product label.

344 g/L 2,4-D and 120 g/L dicamba

Application rate: 60g/ha Squire Ultra & 2.5L/ha Thrust

  • Apply to new leafy growth at frond fully unfurled during late June/early July for best results.
  • Allow top growth to die back fully in year of application.
  • Remove dead stems in the following spring.
  • Minimum water volume 200L/ha.
  • No aerial application.
  • Allow sufficient time for the herbicides to work before assessing results, as visible symptoms may take several weeks to develop on established bracken and perennial weeds.
  • Avoid mowing, topping, cutting or grazing treated areas immediately after application, as this can reduce herbicide uptake and overall effectiveness.
  • Do not reseed treated areas until the recommended interval stated on the product labels has passed.
  • Monitor treated areas throughout the growing season, as some persistent weeds or dense bracken infestations may require follow-up treatment.
  • Maintain good grassland management practices, including appropriate fertilisation and grazing regimes, to encourage a dense, healthy sward that can better compete with future weed growth.
  • Remove dead or decaying weed material where practical to improve appearance and encourage grass recovery.
  • Avoid spraying during periods of drought stress, waterlogging, frost, or when heavy rain is forecast shortly after treatment.
  • Always observe any livestock grazing, cutting and harvest restrictions specified on the individual product labels.
  • Keep people and pets away from treated areas until sprays have fully dried.
  • Store any unused product in its original container in a cool, dry, secure location away from food, feed and direct sunlight.
