Product Detail

This Watercourse Buffer Strip mix for Cultivated Land is designed to protect ditches, streams, rivers and watercourses by reducing nutrient run-off, soil erosion and pesticide drift from adjacent cultivated land.

Ideal for field margins, corners and buffer strips, this grass seed mixture establishes a dense, resilient sward that helps slow surface water flow, trap sediments and improve water quality while remaining low-maintenance once established.

Species Composition:

  • 15% Tall Fescue – Deep rooting for soil stabilisation.
  • 20% Sheep / Hard Fescue – Fine-leaved, durable and low input.
  • 20% Timothy – Reliable establishment and persistence.
  • 10% Smooth-Stalked Meadow Grass – Improves sward density.
  • 35% Creeping Red Fescue – Excellent ground cover and tolerance.

Key Benefits:

  • Designed for watercourse protection and buffer strips.
  • Helps reduce nitrate run-off, erosion and pesticide contamination.
  • Suitable for cultivated land margins and corners.
  • Low maintenance grass cover once established.
  • Supports compliance with agri-environment schemes.
