This Winter Cover Crop mix is designed to provide over-winter soil protection, improve soil structure and support nutrient retention between cropping cycles. Ideal for use following harvest to protect bare soils through the winter months.
The carefully selected multi-species winter cover crop combines grasses, legumes and brassicas to deliver effective ground cover, rooting depth and nitrogen fixation.
Species Composition:
- 30% Vetch – Nitrogen-fixing legume supporting soil fertility.
- 10% Mustard – Rapid establishment and weed suppression.
- 10% Berseem Clover / Crimson Clover – Improves soil biology and nitrogen availability.
- 10% Oil Radish – Deep rooting to help alleviate compaction.
- 40% Black Oats / Forage Rye – Strong winter-hardy grasses for erosion control and biomass.
