Pesticide Training

Including PA1, PA2, PA4 & PA6

The term pesticide is the 'umbrella' term that includes herbicides (weedkillers), insecticides and fungicides.

  • PA1 covers the safe use of pesticides, the other application units cover the method of application:
  • PA6 hand held applicators (including knapsack sprayers)
  • PA2 ground crop sprayer (mounted or trailed)
  • PA4S pesticide slug pellet applicator (mounted or trailed)
  • PA4G pesticide granule applicator (mounted or trailed)

Please note, you are required to successfully complete the PA1 foundation module and one or more of the application modules appropiate to the method of application. By completing this training and being deemed competent in your assessments, you are issued with a Certificate of Competence by the National Proficiency Tests Council (NPTC www.nptc.org.uk) or the Scottish Skills Testing Service www.ssts.org.uk.

Once certified, operators are required to keep up to date with the latest information. NAsOR is a professional register for those who spray pesticides in the amenity industry, providing members with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to update their skills and record their learning. NAsOR CPD points are available on some of our training, please contact us to find out more.
