Paddock Fertiliser
Our horse & pony fertilisers are designed specifically with grazing horses in mind. These paddock fertilisers do not promote lush growth thereby preventing health problems such as laminitis. They ensure your horse and pony pastures are supplied with a range of balanced nutrients for optimum grass growth and weed suppression.
You may have an idea of which paddock fertiliser you require, otherwise please speak to one of our FACTS qualified agronomists to receive high-quality advice. You can also call us on 01778 394052 or email us at [email protected]
If your soil nutrient levels are unknown, we would recommend beginning with our horse paddock soil analysis to determine the nutrient status of your fields. This service is a relatively inexpensive outlay and allows us to tailor advice to your own circumstances.
Fields are sampled by the customer, samples posted in pre-paid envelopes to the laboratory followed by a detailed but straightforward interpretation of the results from our own staff.
If you have larger area to treat, and have appropriate handling and spreading equipment, we also offer a range of paddock fertilisers and lime in Bulk Bags. You can view all of our paddock maintenance products and advice online.

Q. When should I fertilise horse paddocks?
A. Fertilising is essential for making sure that a horse is getting all of the nutrients it needs from the grass it is grazing. At ProGreen, we provide recommended treatment plans in the product descriptions of some of our Amvista fertilisers. An example of a plan is for our Amvista Tiger Boost you would need to apply 2 bags per acre from mid-March to mid-May, 2 bags per acre from mid-May to mid-June and 1 bag per acre in mid-September.
Q. Is it safe to fertilise a paddock with horses?
A. You are able to fertilise paddocks that usually have horses grazing on it, however it is important that you remove the horses from the treated field for 14 days or until the fertiliser prills have fully dissolved into the soil before you reintroduce them to the field.
