Soft Wash Equipment
Softwashing is a simple method of safely removing biofilm growth from hard surfaces without damaging the surface that it is growing on. This method is very different from pressure washing which can be damaging to certain sensitive surfaces such as roof tiles. Our soft wash equipment uses a low pressure spray to apply a solution of cleaning chemical and water rather than just a high pressure jet of water onto the surface you are wanting to treat.
Having the right softwashing equipment helps to make the process as simple as possible. ProGreen offers the Softwash Delivery System (SDS) which ensures that the appropriate cleaning agents, for example AlgoClear Pro or MAC Hi Power, are mixes to the correct dose rate. The mixed solution is then fed up a spray lance to a brush head where you are able to clean the target surface.
What equipment do you need for soft washing?
When wanting to start softwashing you would need either a knapsack sprayer with a spray lance that are all available in our softwash starter kit or a softwash delivery system.
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Softwashing and soft wash equipment uses a low pressure spray to apply a solution of cleaning chemical diluted with water. It is much safer for use on sensitive surfaces such as roof tiles or block paved areas where sand could be dislodged with the high pressure spray jet used in pressure washing.
Why is a soft wash better than pressure washing?
Soft wash is better than pressure washing due to the fact that it uses a low pressure spray so helps protect sensitive areas while also providing a residual effect to the applied area for a period of time. Pressure washing simply fires a jet of water at the area and removes what is there at the current time. You would then need to re-clean the area far sooner than if you had used soft wash equipment.
